The Boardman Basin is the largest of the basins that make up the Oak Lodge area. The Boardman Watershed covers approximately 1,327 acres and consists of 21 miles of piped creek and 4 miles of open stream. Boardman Creek is also a tributary to the Willamette River. Boardman Creek starts in the Boardman wetlands, flows north along the Trolley Trail, through Stringfield Family Park, and enters the Willamette River at Walta Vista Street. The Oak Lodge Water Services District has launched a focused effort for Boardman Creek called the Boardman Watershed Initiative. Oak Lodge Water Services’ Surface Water Management Plan identifies the Boardman Watershed Initiative as a focal point and a crucial step to improving the region’s streams.
