Our Streamside Stewards Program works with willing private property owners along Mt Scott, Kellogg, River Forest, Boardman, and Rinearson Creeks and their tributaries. We survey site conditions, and develop a restoration plan for the site, and conduct restoration for up to five years. Contact us if you are interested

The Council provides weed control and native vegetation planting along the creek. This service is available to streamside properties with good habitat potential to the to the extent our grant funds stretch. We often have a waiting list.

Benefits:

  • Weed control
  • Native plant installation
  • Reduced erosion
  • Increased shade along the creek, which decreases the temperature of the water, helping the fish to survive and thrive
  • Improved habitat for fish and wildilfe

This also improves water quality flowing into the Willamette River, which is important in the low water summer and autumn months. And you’ll learn about watershed restoration!
